Arun Valley Trek
The Arun valley provides really superb views of both Mt Everest and Makalu. It is located between the Sagarmatha and Makalu-Barun National Parks. Trekking in this valley provides an alternative approach to the Khumbu region. This trekking trail is known as an ancient trade route used by local people to transport agricultural products to Namche Bazaar and Tibet across Nangpa la. There are two passes in the valley, the Salpa Pass (3350m) and the Surkie~La Pass (3085m). This trek is comparatively easy which offers superb views of Mera Peak, Everest, Makalu, and many others at unfeasible height above rice paddies, lush forests.
